Happy New Year! Highlights of 2012 and things to come in 2013

Happy New Year from Copywrite Matters

Well, we made it through another year. Did you make it through with more wins than not? I hope so.

You might still be recovering from New Year’s Eve. Or perhaps you’re already charging ahead into 2013. If you are, good for you! I’m still in relaxation mode but before I hit the holiday zone I took some time to think about the year that’s just been and the year ahead.

My highlights of 2012

I started (and finished) the Australian Businesswomen’s Mentoring program and for the first time I have a business plan and an almost-understanding of my finances. These are the kind of things I put off until ‘one day‘ and one day came this year

I went to the Problogger Training Event and it blew my mind for the second year running. I walked away with lots of inspiration and, more importantly, lots of motivation to act. Without action your ideas are just pretend and since October, I’ve been a flurry of action.

I started presenting seminars and workshops. I had a few opportunities to speak to audiences about content marketing, SEO and copywriting and I discovered that I bloody love it!

I finally got off my bum and started making videos. There are only a few (so far) but you can check out Copywrite Matters TV on YouTube and watch this become a really useful resource for business owners.

I’ve worked with some amazing business owners, finding the unique voice of their brand and writing marketing copy that spoke out in that voice. Big projects, small projects, fun projects, straight projects. They made every single week interesting.

I’ve strengthened relationships with people who have improved my business, and my life. Dare I go so far as to say that this year I have found new friends? For this I am truly grateful.

I completed the ultimate copywriting cheat sheet and I made it available – free. For reals. Did you get your copy?

What’s coming in 2013?

Lots of blogs and social media chat and lots of free copywriting and marketing tips, just like always.

There are going to be free webinars on all sorts of copywriting topics from writing headlines to using your keywords without compromising readability.

I’ll be launching some ebooks that will help you seriously rock your business copywriting. You’ll be able to see exactly how I approach your copywriting – from your brochures to your newsletters – with lots of practical advice.

So 2013 will be ‘The Year of Content’ for Copywrite Matters. Helpful, valuable content that will make your own business copywriting ROCK.

So that’s me. How about you? Are you up for sharing your highlights from 2012 and your goals for 2013?

Thanks for your highlights Copy Detective – quite a list! My highlight was actually starting my blog ‘The Good, the Bad and the Italian’. After a few doubts about what I’d be sharing, I decided to write about what I know best (hence the blog name). This year’s goals are to capitalise on what I’ve done blog-wise and to expand the content into other areas of my arts consultancy. Cheers.

Wow! Going by the post, it seems you have had a pretty busy and fruitful 2012. Attending seminars, events, and conferences can indeed help in gaining experience, besides meeting new people. When you meet new people and interact with them, undoubtedly you will get to learn a lot of new things. It will help to improve your business in many ways.

However, your plans for 2013 is what interested me the most. Among other things, I am certainly looking forward to those ebooks which promises to offer copywriting tips.

It was definitely a busy year. A year that pushed my boundaries in a lot of great ways. I even managed to keep sane (mostly).

I’m glad to hear you’re looking forward to the ebook magic coming. It’s something I’ve been considering for a while and 2013 is going to be the year of really useful tips for all.

Do you have any big goals for 2013 Mark?
